Hello all.

Post by XPLODE »

I had the misfortune of refreshing the run away menu several times which gave me -8K xp at lvl 6 while i only had 2.5K xp total, so that was a loss of over 10K xp.
It also said i lost several thousand credits although i did not notice, maybe it didn't deduct them or maybe i didn't pay enough attention.
All is well now though, i'm lvl 7 and have a healthy balance of around 150K credits.

In case you missed it my name is XPLODE, it was supposed to be X-PLODE but the game apparently couldn't handle the awesome that is my nickname and dropped the hyphen or else it would crash the database.

There are a few question i'd like answered if you gentlemen may indulge me;

1. What is a SNARG and what benefits does it have.
2. The fastest way to upgrade my ship(mainly combat/looting stuff) efficiently or replace it with a new and better one altogether.
3. What kind of items do i not sell.
4. Any benefits to joining a guild.
5. Why is it more expensive to repair my ship in a dock then using repair packs.
6. I accidentally vaporized a friendly mining drone and have a 100cr bounty, how do i get rid of it.
7. Would anyone like to send me some stuff, whatever it may be will undoubtedly accelerate my ultimate goal of wiping out the xenos scum and those crazy robot ships(AI's are evil i tell you).

My location is currently Sol system, but i want to leave as soon as possible.

Keep fueled my good fellows, may all your gas tanks stay topped off *tips spacehelm*.

Welcome to the game, Captain :)

1) SNARG has two meanings. adult ones can be found in derelict explorationn, and can be traded for some High Tech loot. Secons kind, a young one, you can get by finish certain quest line, from NPC in Aurelia, Furnace.

2) For low levels - if you do Combat - Upgrade your weapon every level. other things are less important.

3) Don't sell items to NPC (resorces to Joe, other items via inventory). Personally I sold a lot of my stuff when I need cr for new ship

4) Guild have no drawbacks - no tax, no risk of wars (no PvP in this game). If you join to guild you get more cr and XP from Ashar, Passangers, Combat missions, minng missions. some (most?) guilds have forums with advices, help for new players, loans etc. You should join one. I'm from "The Miners Union" :)

5) By design :)

6) Those bounty have no real effect. you have chioce, you can be a Pirate :)

7) join guild :)

Hello Captain XPLODE welcome to the Sphere.

Now you have posted here contact Coops in game for your reward credits.

Some answers,
1 There are two types of SNARG, the ones you find exploring which can be traded and the pet that you gain by doing a mission chain in Furnace the pets provide a boost to IP.
2 Get a Bio Engine 5, more fuel is good, then haul cargo. Also do the NPC missions some of them pay very well.
3 There is a good case to be made for not selling anything, check what player made equipment you want to get then look what resources the schematics need and keep those. Whatever you do don't sell to Joe's.
4 Many guilds have tuition plans for new players and will loan or sell at a discount equipment to get you started.
5 With the packs you are doing the work and most of us don't charge ourselves as much for our time as the dock workers charge.
6 Not sure, kill lots of pirates perhaps.
7 See 4.

Welcome to the Sphere Captain XPLODE! May all your journeys be profitable!
1. Snargs are critters to sideline you from your real mission. They require food and care and you should airlock them as soon as possible. Same for Ribblez by the way.
2. Visit the store and spend money on a bio-engine (biggest you can afford), A ship token, watch your level restrictions. Find a benefactor, like me, or someone weaker than you and steal from them.
3. Sell everything to me! I'll give you a good deal. Really I will.
4. Our guild is the most awesome guild, besides the others. It's the Brotherhood. Sisters are allowed too.
5. The corporate bureaucracy is designed to keep you enslaved and poor and scrabbling for meager credits in order to afford your docking fees.
6. Don't worry about bounties! You are famous now! Just avoid GalFed ships.
7. Most of us have old pieces of ships laying around our ships store (reactors, mining lasers, shields, cargo bays, etc.). Just ask. And yes the ships AI is evil.

Hello Captain Xplode, welcome to Core Exiles.
The others have mostly covered your questions. As always, the truth lies somewhere in between.

I'd just add: read and visit these forums regularly, you'll learn a lot in here.
And get into the various competitions (here, twitter, facebook, voting sites, chat, and ingame). theres plenty of
fuel gets dished out this way and you'll find fuel is your major limitation, at least early on.
If you start getting buried, try something else for a while. Plenty of variety here.
