I am not sure if anyone else has notice, but the JavaScript pop-up maps for Sphere and Furnace galaxies are not accurate as to the settlements within each system.
In some cases, it will show a settlement on the wrong planet or give inaccurate Tech and Law Levels; while other settlements do not show up at all on the map.
I find it frustrating because I am still getting my bearings in the game and need to know who or what is where.
My suggestion is that they need to be set up to be routinely auto-updated.
This should also be a hot button issue with 'older' players with settlements for the basic reason that if you are not on a map, no one will plot a course to you.
I know I am not having an issue with Java, because I am fully updated, etc., etc.
Can someone else corroborate this, or do I need to go see the Ophthalmologist ... or worse yet, a Psychiatrist . (LOL)
Thanks All!

Re: Regular update of JavaScript maps?
Can you please give me a few examples so i can track these issues down, as this data is actually drawn directly from the Database so should not be inaccurate.

Re: Regular update of JavaScript maps?
There are tons of issues, COOPS.
Hopefully the group will all sound off, since I did not write them all down.
For starters, nearly all the settlements in Furnace have incorrect data (Law levels are wrong)
In Sphere, Plarus system on Minster II, Fort Tiger settlement (T:6, L:7) is not shown, but is there for sure.
In Furnace, Seyfert system on Galerius... Owner King David says that his settlement has never shown up on the mapping system.
In Furnace, Zecry system on Delmars Landing... neither "The Nut House" or "The River Archeron" settlements are on the mapping system.
I will start tracking them for you, ASAP.

My settlement Port Searle in Castalan shows incorrect tech and law levels.
Map displays them both as being 7 but they are both actually at 12 and have been for some months now

In Anvil there are several errors.
Canby the settlement Mirage is missing.
Xellum claims that there is a Raid present
Trantor doesn't show the settlement Foundation.

Re: Regular update of JavaScript maps?
Thank you all for helping out. There are way more missing than I though.
Coops, I placed an in-game players ad. I have not been able to corroborate everything, but it seems that people have observed issues with the mapping system for months. I guess because most players stick to familiar stomping grounds, they did not think it a problem that they needed to worry about.
Regardless, as a new player, I find it difficult to navigate the space lanes, especially in Furnace, without an accurate map.
I will keep adding info as I find it.
Thank you for your quick attention into this, Coops!

Re: Regular update of JavaScript maps?
I have made a change this morning. This should likely fix any and all issues relating to missing or incorrect data being displayed. If you still find anything out of whack please let me know either here or via Bug Track.
