Settlement Wrap Up
This post relates to a procedure we have just added for Settlement Owners to 'Wrap Up' and remove a Settlement. Both settlement owners and players should read this post. It is linked from two places in game that open the post in a new window so it can be referenced.

It is likely amendments will be made to this process over time but I will lay out the current methods employed and how a settlement owner can Wrap Up his or her settlement.

S.W.P.
Each and every player has been awarded ONE Settlement Wrap Up point. This entitles the owner to initiate a settlement wrap up on a settlement (they own) of their choice at any time. Once used it is NON refundable. Akin to IP reset points these can be purchased from the CE store.

Overview
Players work long and hard to gain themselves a Settlement, sometime two. Often this works out, but sometimes due to poor planning, or simply real life issues it can become a drain on your finances. Players are also limited to two settlements at any one time so being able to wrap up one and open another somewhere else is also a nice feature. Either way this option allows a settlement owner to initiate a 'Settlement Wrap Up'.

The Process
Settlement owners should go to their Settlement Settings Screen. From there at the bottom is an option to 'Initiate Settlement Wrap Up'. As this is an important function there is a following YES / No type screen.

It is YOUR responsibility to ensure you have READ THIS post fully and understand the process and the losses involved when initiating a Settlement Wrap Up. By accepting and confirming the process you are spending your FREE Settlement Wrap Up Point. The point is non refundable and you are reminded of this on the relevant screen.

Accepting the process will trigger a series of events.
The action is logged in your settlement Log and Personal log. Admin is sent confirmation of the process. You are sent confirmation of the process. (PM) A Yellow Bar appears on your Promenade. This is so that players who visit and use your settlement are made aware you have initiated a wrap up.

The initiation of the process starts a 14 day cooling off period. During this time you MAY in WRITING (PM) cancel the process. The SWP is non refundable so you wont get it back but you can cancel the process should you change your mind.

After 14 Days
Once the date displayed on your Settlement Promenade has passed we will begin the settlement Wrap up. At this stage the settlement will no longer be under your control and will be locked from any docking until its removal is complete.

Settlement Owner Perspective
So what do I get to keep and what do I loose Coops ? OK read carefully.

All items returned are done so to the Local NPC planet where the Settlement is located. This means you do not have to traipse halfway across the Galaxy to collect any items returned.

Hub Sections: Lost

Settlement Expander: (if fitted) Lost

Statistics: All stats relating to that Settlement will be lost, this includes, SRP, tech, law, morale, level, research, basically anything that is related to the settlement in question stats wise.

Contracts: All contracts are cancelled. No refunds are given.

Staff: All staff at the time of the wrap up that are in your employment based from that settlement will be placed 'On Leave' You may choose to keep the staff or simply dismiss them. Note, remember staff left 'On Leave' for more than 14 days will automatically leave your employment.

Settlement Wrap Up Time Scales
Whilst we will strive to initiate and complete the Settlement wrap up procedure within a timely period it may take up to 24 hours before all your items are completely transferred or returned.

As a Settlement Owner or as a Player who uses / visits a Settlement you can speed up this process by moving your own items prior to the date displayed on the Settlement Promenade Yellow bar.

Collection From NPC Planet
Some of the items above will be returned to the Collection point if they came from a PM sale or from an existing Collection point or from a normal return like Gleso. You are reminded that the collection point runs a 30 day holding rule and anything left there AFTER that time is DELETED!

Commercial Store
Items moved from the settlement Commercial Store or en-route to the settlement at that time will be transferred to the Planet NPC based commercial store.

14 Day Cooling Off
A reminder that you have 14 days to change your mind should you decide it was a mistake to initiate the Settlement Wrap Up. This must be done in writing to Coops before the date shown on the promenade of your settlement.

Addendum : Wrapping up a Level Six Settlement will cause the loss of ANY and ALL level six buildings added to the settlement.

Level Six settlements are only really designed to be removed if a player leaves or their account is pruned due to 365 days inactivity. We realise this doesn't mean that at some stage a player may WISH to wrap up their Level Six but the added addendum should be noted.

Under normal circumstances any level six set where the owner leaves or is pruned the settlement will be placed in the hands of the 'Official Receiver' account. A decision on its viability will then be made.

Coops

A Walk in the Woods helps me relax and release the tension from a hard day at the code.
The fact that I'm dragging a body behind me should be irrelevant!
