Gus Givens here viewers. Today I bring you news of the belated firing of the Genesis Project weapon in Kelsey. There had been much controversy over the deployment and eventual firing of this weapon. In-fact the whole project was called into doubt when a secret memo was leaked outlining serious concerns of some of the scientists working on the project.

It appears there concerns were unfounded because at 15:30 GT today the go-ahead was given. All traffic in Kelsey was put on alert and the Jump Gate system locked down to incoming traffic for a few minutes.

The explosion was seen right across the entire system and Cinq Port reported some slight structural damage. No one was killed, no ships were reported destroyed and the Jump Gate was reopened shortly after the all clear.

What has become clear is that the device WORKS! Kelsey now has a NEW Planet Sankarea!

If you remember back some months ago a Galactic Wide competition was run by Gal-Fed for a name for the planets created through the Genesis System. One of the winners was a captain by the name of Xeno The Morph. His suggestion was Sankarea has been selected by Gal-Fed officials.

At this stage ships are being kept clear of the planets orbit and a safety cordon has been set up whilst scientists review the data and use every device at their disposal to figure out if the planet is as stable as they predicted.

We have been told by the Gal-Fed scientists that once they have completed their diagnostics the planet will be turned over to the Explorers League for exploration and cataloguing. This data will in turn enable the scientists to determine the best locations for stage 4 Genesis Deployment.
