Core-Exiles SSL Certification

Post by Coops »

We have managed to amend some of our older elements that were stopping us from adding an SSL encryption certificate to the Core-Exiles Domain. This means that from today you should be seeing a small Padlock icon at the beginning of the site address in the web browser toolbar. Various web browsers display this differently but in essence, it will either show a padlock (locked).

What does this mean to YOU? - Well, no difference really other than the site between you and our server is now encrypted. Giving you that warm fuzzy feeling of security when playing Core-Exiles.

This counts for also the landing portal. We HAVE added one to this forum, so accessing https://community.core-exiles.com will give you a secure connection to this forum as well.

We have added the same redirects for the forums but for some caching reason, it seems to be only working if you manually redirect/visit the https url. We will revisit in 24 hours if the caching issue is not resolved. For now, just update your book makes to the link above.

Lastly, just to calm and nervous players out there, this won't affect the way the game plays or works in any way, it simply means the site has a security certificate and enables end to end secure communications whilst browsing the / playing the game and forums. It has taken us a while to get to this stage but thankfully this is now live.

P.S Some fo you may use password managers to store your logins. If you do you MAY have to update the url for core-exiles and the forums to include the 'https' in its stored url.
A Walk in the Woods helps me relax and release the tension from a hard day at the code.
The fact that I'm dragging a body behind me should be irrelevant!
