New Festive Store Items

We have been really busy lately not only working on more content and the coming release of the Expanse (fully explorable) but also on Christmas events, competitions and now CE Store Items.

The first one bends the 'Dev Laws' so to speak.

The Rudolf Device increases your Structure Points. Errr Yeah you can get up now. We held this one back under lock and key for a LONG time and many of our more senior players will tell you they lost count of the times they answered new players questions for 'how do I get more Structure Points?'

The Rudolf Device will ONLY be on offer during Christmas New Year periods each year. Starting today the 20th of December and ending on the 1st of January (Midnight Game Time). If purchased the 'Rudolf Device' can be used all year round and even traded. - See the STORE for more details.

Festive Sales
Next are a set of Store items that are only available when we have 'Festive Periods' Example, Christmas, New Year, Halloween, Independence Day, Guy Fawkes, Thanks Giving etc. These timed sales will be posted prior to them becoming available in store.

The items being added are an opportunity (during the periods above) to purchase Skill Points for your captain. Skills can be purchased in bundles of 50. Each skill set has its own cost related to its in game IP relevance.

All Player Bonus!
When any player makes a purchase of skills through the Official CE store ALL players will receive 1 point in that specific skill. So if 10 players purchase skills throughout the month you'll gain 10 Skill points completely for FREE!

Policy Change
Before we get a torrent of 'comment's about these changes, they come about due to a change in our business model for Core-Exiles. We have seen a dramatic increase in the cost of advertising in the last year (well over 100%) and if we wish to retain the current levels of 'new players' and continue to increase our player 'static base' then we need to be investing heavily in more advertising and new methods to bring players to the game.

Support currently does go a long way towards this but we need to continue our growth and expand in 2010. The addition of things like skills to the store will only help players 'so much' and most items in game are 'Level Locked' or not just a simple case of 'purchase and use'.

Those that do make purchases in these items can be assured they are supporting Core-Exiles in a way that ensures the game they love goes from strength to strength.

The Rudolf Pod is already in the store and the skills are undergoing final testing but should be there shortly. Both the Rudolf and Skills will be Officially available from today till the 1st of January.

Again Rudolf is ONLY available for sale during the Christmas / New Year period and will only appear in the store ONCE per year.
