New to the game have no clue what im doing

Hello Captain Superior Munitions, welcome to Core Exiles.
Check out the New player guides (3 of them), found in the CE Guides menu pullout to the left center of the main screen.
At your starting location (Starbase-51), talk to the NPC character there, he will give you some introductory missions.
OPen up the discord chat, there is almost always someone online to chat with questions.
After a while, theres a Wiki and the Forums, for more information.
Most of all, just try stuff out, you pretty much can't damage your character to any great extent.
