I'd say you should move the buddy notification under the main display, where it belongs. Make it look like the wreckage locator notification.

Simply put, no. lol

There are elements with the Buddy system that means it has to locate its 'message above the content before its displayed and not after'.

Sorry you'll just have to live with all that lovely loot and a message bar at the top.
