What is this and how do I get to dock?

What is this and how do I get to dock?

Post by jebrighton »

I tried to dock on Shipwreck Island on Daphine this morning and got the following message

Captain,
This Settlement has a 'Private Docking Restricted List'.
You don't appear to be on that list so we have been refused docking permisson!

Is this a bug or what and how do I get to land? I have a factory there.

The settlement owner can restrict docking to a list of people. A settlement also goes into this state before it is lost.

WHat happens to my factory and all the resources in storage? Why would an owner not allow players who own stuff there not allowed to dock?

Good question. I have an emporium there, so I can't access the items in it (let alone sell them...). The owner's been online about five and a half hours ago, however, so he's not "inactive"...

You could always send them a message and ask. Don't forget, player-owned settlements are owned by players, i.e. humans, and it's generally a good idea to have some contact with the people you're doing business with (which you are by using their services). They may not even realize they flipped the switch to become restricted, so you might be letting them know ;)

Look in the settlements section on the Stats page.

http://stats.core-exiles.com/settle.php

which shows this.

Owner Settlement Name Level Planet Morale Law Tech Contracts Tax % Docking
slurmewerds Shipwreck Island 6 Daphine 100 12 12 7 2 Private
Lvl 114: Settlement Diaspar (L6): Guild Intelliquest

IIRC that could happen if settlement cr ballance goes too low.

There is option in Captains bio, called "Settlement Reclaim", I think it transfers resources from "private" settlement to planet (NPC). Not sure how it works.

This is exactly what happened. Docking should be enabled again tomorrow.
