planet exploration, artefacts are giving a nice extra faction exp. But for a long time, faster is very relative.

We had players devise and design their own decks last year and submit these for adding. This bought the amount of unique Ship to explore to 38. That was enough to open up the mid size ship deck plans. Once players breach the next docking collar we will do the same again and ask for 'Large' plans to be submitted.
