ORSA strikers win concession - offices to close daily
ORSA offices were closed today in a wave of unofficial strikes by employees, who claimed overwork was leading to intolerable working conditions. This followed the sackings of a number of ORSA employees, after an unnamed captain removed extractors without them noticing. The hard-pressed workers were fired after sending the captain an extractor from ORSA stores, having entered in their records that the extractor had been confiscated.
ORSA management have now agreed that ORSA offices will be closed to captains from 17:25 to 17:35 to allow staff to concentrate on the flow of extractors being automatically removed upon expiry of the resource lease. The sacked ORSA employees have been offered their jobs back, but refused after receiving huge consultancy fees for a forthcoming holomovie about the strike, titled "Extractor Salvation".
