Corporations

Post by Achilleos »

I want my corporation office to be on my own settlement, I'm presuming I just need to select Corporations as my level six specialisation for this but just need this confirmed, I have read the corporation primer a couple of times and I dont see the answer there.
There is only this
An Office - These can be found on Promenades by looking for 'Corporation Bureau' in the Finder. Think carefully about your first office. Like many things that make you richer and poorer in CE you will need to visit this location. So again think before opening. As i said above BEFORE opening an office check out what your going to need once that's done. You could save yourself a lot of credits by not opening until your ready :)

Currently only Corporation Bureau to be found on finder is in Tosno

There were Seven Offices added at the time of release :

Lexington | Thrym | Furnace
Metri | Herschelii | Furnace
Palham | Sassion | Sphere
Tosno | Canberra | Furnace
Trantor | Popovich | Anvil
Vosay | Turroth | Verec-per
Zarante | Carlova | The Forge

We are 'working' on the issue of adding them to settlements and star bases. But even when we clear that it will only be for level Seven Settlements + and for Starbases.

The above offices are listed in the Finder on live searching for 'Corporation Bureau'.

It should be noted that whilst the location of a starting corp is important it is NOT the end of the world. You can add other offices later and then move your Corp HQ to any one of the offices you own.

That leads us to the next question, Coops: What's the advantage of (later on) opening "branch offices" all across the galaxy? Does that simply mean I will be able to access all the things my AAA-tier megacorp is (discreetly) working on from Verec-Per today and from the Expanse next week? Or will it actually help me print even more money?

And - for those of us who, like Achilleos, are going to move our HQ to our own settlement sooner or later - what will be the prereqs for that? A specific specialisation? A special "player settlement corporate HQ"-building? A sizeable bribe... errr. DONATION... to your Cayman Islands bank account? ;-)
With great power comes the great realization that you can have just as much fun simply annoying each other.

Opening more Branches offers your Corp the opportunity to gain more options in regards to Corporation Contract Offices and Facilities 'space'. As each Corporation Office Facility only offers you Five spaces you would never be able to maximize your corporation without more than one office.

Don't forget deploying a Haulage Office in ONE office opens that type of contract for ALL your Offices. (IE no need to open more than one Haulage office.) Contracts are generated from the location the office is accessed, but contract offices are available across your network once deployed.

And of course Research will need to be maximized allowing you to deploy the Three maximum research buildings. And that's just Day one, I'm sure in the next few weeks and months we will see a lot more appear that you'll be screaming out for space to deploy.

As for pre-req's - You JUST need to research the option for a second and third office etc. No catch no cost involved. Just plain old research :) Moving your HQ is done via the View Assets Tab in game with the cost in credits (from your Corp Bank) rising each time you move it).

P.S no one is saying you HAVE to have more offices. You can simply run one, but you will be limited to the Five Facility deployment Slots.

Ok thanks for that, however a couple more questions.

Is the Corporation level six specialisation now obsolete ?

Is the Corporation Bureau building for level six settlements also now obsolete, or will we need it still for future ?
Its info reads.

This building is limited to level Six settlements. Whilst it does not require a specialisation it does have a large energy requirement and specific staffing needs. This building can only be purchased from the Settlement License Administrator over on San Ferran.

Once deployed it forms a permanent residence for Corporations to open offices and begin business. Settlement owners can set the daily charges for services offered to those using their office and hangar deck space.

Please note: This building cannot be removed once fitted and is NOT a tradeable item!
You may only fit one instance of this building

Energy Req: 250,000 | Set Level Req: 6
Set Running Cost: 20,000 CR | Staff Req: Skill Type 6 x 10
