Ellie Durant - More Responsibility

Post by Coops »

Ellie Durant, lives and works in Descarte on San Ferran. Up till now she has dealt with the purchase of initial Settlement License. When the Level Six code goes live she will be responsible for several new elements. I will lay these out below and discuss in 'some depth' but you will need to research this fully once the code is live, think of this as a primer.

Level Six License
Ellie will allow anyone with a current Settlement that has attained level Five to purchase a level Six License. She will only sell you one at a time, so if you wish to upgrade more than one you will need to do them one at a time. A level Six license is sold as non refundable and non transferable. Once purchased the license upgrade remains on your account until used.

Note that the license is ONE part of Twenty Two final checks you will need to meet prior to actually being able to level your settlement from Five to Six. Also note that the cost of the license reflects the serious devotion a player must have towards their settlement. Do not expect these to be cheap.

Level Six Specialization Buildings
Once you have a level Six settlement you will need to eventually choose a specialization. Ellie stocks the primary buildings you will require and these are ONLY sold by Ellie Durant. These buildings are non tradeable / account locked and once deployed are non removable.

Starship Manufacturing Center (SMC)
This utilizes a shake and bake system to manufacture Player Made Star Ships. This building requires a tremendous amount of energy and specific staffing. When deployed the owner also gains a Promenade Store from which to Stock and Sell his / her manufactured Ships. Ships are crafted using a Shake and Bake system (Real Time) and then deposited into the Player Sales Store room for them to price or create private contracts for pickup. Ships may be moved freely between on sale and the backroom store room.

Starbase Hub Manufacturing Center (SBMC)
This utilizes a shake and bake system to manufacture Player Made Star base Hubs. This building requires a tremendous amount of energy and specific staffing. When deployed the owner also gains a Promenade Store from which to Stock and Sell his / her Star Base Hubs. Hubs are crafted using a Shake and Bake system (Real Time) and then deposited into the Player Sales Store room for them to price or create private contracts for pickup. Hubs may be moved freely between on sale and the backroom store room.

Corporation Bureau
This item will not initially be on offer from Ellie as Corporations have been placed on hold till Level Six is deployed and tested in a live environment. Once release you will be able to purchase a Corporation Bureau office for deployment on your level six settlement.

Starbase License
Owning a Starbase is pretty much an end goal aim of any player or Guild in Core-Exiles. Items & events entering the game over the next year will mean that Player run / owned Starbases become a very much needed item. Starbases are deployed using Hubs manufactured by a Level Six SBMC.

In the same fashion a settlement requires a license, so does a Starbase. There is one main difference. Starbase licensed expire after X days (currently 30 on Dev). These are issued for Specific Systems and as stated will expire (non refundable or transferable) if not used after X days from the date of issue.

This means you MUST take the time to investigate the production time and preparations for a starbase before rushing out and simply purchasing a license 'Just to be First'. We should also point out that Starbase Licenses are very expensive. It may well be that many players will have to join funds or obtain large loans simply to afford the license alone.

The above list covers the current new responsibilities that Ellie Durant will take on when Level Six is released.

A Walk in the Woods helps me relax and release the tension from a hard day at the code.
The fact that I'm dragging a body behind me should be irrelevant!
